Nessus, the forgotten centaur

Yesterday evening I was tuned into a live stream run by my friend Kaz (twitch.tv/kaz_phd) and a conversation came up about the mysterious centaur planet Nessus and why nothing “new” has happened on the planet so far.
In fact, it’s safe to say we have had no new lore or campaign-driven narrative taking place on the planet whatsoever. While Nessus continues to have open-world events, strikes, lost sectors, and regional loot chests, it is yet to be seen how Exodus and Nessus will play a part in the future of Destiny 2.

Possible narrative leads
The universe of Destiny is vast. Most of the story enjoyed by many players and lore enthusiasts was incubated and developed for 5 years before this hit title became reality. This means that there are possibly hundreds of narrative threads that are expansive and incredibly detailed.
One latent thread is that of SIVA (a form of self-replicating nanotechnology developed by Clovis Bray during the Golden Age). According to the lore entry SIV.MEM, it is portrayed that Clovis Bray, owner of Braytech, had other motives for SIVA: to use it on humans in an attempt to extend life or ascend beyond the “human condition”.

Supposedly, each colony ship in the Exodus Program (a project designed to send Human colonists outside the Sol System) was fitted with SIVA chambers to aid in terraforming or colonizing planets within our solar system. However, since then it would appear this information has been redacted from Destinypedia, but if you look in the right places some references still exist, like Destiny Wiki.
But it is clear that a trail of narrative bread crumbs has been left for us to follow (though my peers would debate it, you know who you are 😆).
Future Story: Idea
It is entirely possible that the replication chamber on the Exodus Black had crashed somewhere on the planet, possibly buried or hidden by debris.
Just imagine! This could explain why no one has been able to locate the replication chamber and put it to good use. Could it also be possible that sometime in the present The Fallen, or even the Vex, stumble upon the chamber and attempt to use it for their own goals?
The thought of the Vex stumbling on SIVA sends shivers down my spine, considering their technology works similarly.

I believe there is something to be seen, so if for whatever reason you find yourself with some extra time, stop by Fail Safe at the Exodus black crash site on Nessus. If you stick around long enough, you will hear a special voice line about SIVA.
