What Are The Benefits of Lo-FI?

Music is therapy. In this instance, different styles of lo-fi promote and increase dopamine (neurotransmitter and chemical messenger in the brain). With low poly, grainy sounds. Lo-fi music can improve mental focus and alleviate anxiety.
Anxiety is a common element amongst Autism and other Neurodivergent i.e: Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, Dysgraphia, SPP.
Lo-fi as a music and aesthetic acts as de-stimulus. Helping neurodiverse individuals to cope with surroundings, situations and emotions.
This is your Avengers: End Game Moment! With all other senses de-stimulated. Overall focus is improved. Which means school, work, home tasks can be completed with less stress, distraction or anxiety.

Mindfulness & Prayer

Sceptical right? You don’t have to take my word alone. Doctors (NHS) and researchers have discovered that mindfulness and prayer work similarly to lo-fi. They increase a state of self-awareness through the repetition of affirmation.
This isn’t about “religion”, but a moment for you to get close to your creator. It is a chance to discover the true essence of who you are and your purpose. Everyone needs purpose to feel fulfilled amidst the chaos of life.
A simple sentence like: “Dear God, I know you hear me. Please help me to cope with my anxiety, stress or sense of feeling overwhelmed. Help me to accept your peace, amen.”
Regular Activity
No matter how much of a genius you are! Everyone needs fresh air and excessive.
Don’t panic! If reading this brings on panic? Stop for a moment and take a deep breath…hold for ten seconds! And let it go!
Moving and stretching out bodies does three things for Neurodiverse individuals.
- Improves concentration: Taking a break to move around can boost concentration and productivity.
- Exercise: Enables development of physical and cognitive coordination, balance and skills. (I struggled with this as a child, so trust me it does help).
- Improves Overall Mood: Neurodivergent people can be moody due to too much stimulus or hormonal deficiencies/imbalances. A regular work out routine will improve your confidence and increase happiness.
- Sleep: Consistent workouts serve and natural stress-relievers and mood enhancers.
- Lowers Anxiety: Going for walks, or being outside in nature, promote good mental health. A real change of scenery can put so much about life into perspective and will lower anxiety levels.
- Physical activity: Will improve overall balance and walking gait.
- Increased Activity: Stimulates all the right parts of our mind and body. You don’t need to, hyper focus on this. Just find one activity you enjoy doing outside. When you get bored, change it up a little to keep freshness.
To wrap up, using tools like lo-fi music, mindfulness, and regular exercise can help neurodivergent individuals. These tools can improve focus and reduce anxiety.
