Exodus Black SIVA Chamber
Many of you are still asking “Where is SIVA“? The answer used to be, no one knows. However, recent developments in Episodes One: Act 2 suggest otherwise, after FailSafe the Golden Age Ai used “Nanomachines” to trace the flow of Radiolaria and pinpoint the final location of the Conductor.
What Are Nanomachine’s?
Otherwise, known as SIVA is a Golden Age breakthrough of self-replicating nanotechnology, developed by Willa Bray, Clovis Bray II’s wife to accelerate humanities colonization effort. Each nanomachine within SIVA is a fully independent, thinking machine connected via a quantum network to coordinate movement, similar to Radiolaria, suggesting Vex fluid was the inspiration of the design.
In Destiny, SIVA is a groundbreaking nanotechnology created during the Golden Age to accelerate human advancement. The dormant technology sparked the SIVA Crisis when the Fallen House of Devils unearthed and weaponized it, posing a significant threat to humanity.
Complicating matters further, the Iron Lords, including the enigmatic Felwinter, sought to harness SIVA’s power for their own ends. This led to a complex and perilous conflict, culminating in a decisive battle to contain the spread of SIVA at the sacrifice of many Iron Lord forces.
Act 2 Story Development
FailSafe using nanomachines, suggests she has, had access to SIVA or some form of it for white a while. Which in itself poses a whole different list of questions. But there are two important questions we need to ask:
1. Where are the remaining SIVA nanomachines?
2. How did the Conductor take control of them?
It’s essential we gain answers to both, the Conductor (Lakshmi-2), potentially getting access to SIVA is enough to tip the balancing scale on what the Vex could become and presents a bigger danger to the wider Sol System, should Nessus bound vex move off-world to other planets, like Mercury, Europa and Venus.
The latest Battlegrounds mission on Nessus ends with a summons by Ikora Rey to the Last City. There, she reveals the truth of FailSafe’s discovery. After analysis, FailSafe has pinpointed the location of the Conductor.
There’s a catch, though: she can’t open a portal directly to the Conductor without Vex teleportation data, data that is held within the mind of the slain Saint-14, who still resides within the Infinite Forest.

The intertwined legacies of the Golden Age, the mysterious Clovis Bray II, and the enigmatic Iron Lords converge in a high-stakes confrontation that will shape the future of humanity’s struggle against the darkness.
The journey ahead will test the mettle of Guardians like never before, as they strive to prevent the looming spectre of SIVA from unleashing chaos across the stars.
Whether Bungie’s narrative team go fully blown SIVA-mode or not? It is something we will have to wait and see. But the idea presents an exciting story idea, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how we move from Echoes into Revenant.
